Ayden-Grifton High School
Ayden-Grifton High School
History
Ayden-Grifton High School opened in the fall of 1971. The new school consolidated Ayden High School, South Ayden High School, and Grifton High Schools. It was the first school in Ayden to integrate Black and white students after the remaing Jim Crow laws were overturned. Even with the integration of schools, there was still tensions between the white and Black community.
