Haliwa-Saponi Tribe
Established as a state-recognized tribe in 1965, the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe of Hollister, North Carolina has provided the residents of eastern North Carolina with a yearly powwow in April since 1965. This powwow is known to draw in people from all over the United States as it acts as the tribe's biggest cultural event of the year.
