This website is dedicated to gathering together all the coins minted in Levantine Phoenician city-states before Alexander the Great. Coins on this site will date to ca. 450 - 333 BCE, and are drawn from online museum collections around the world.

The four city-states given permission by the Achaemenid Persian Empire to mint coints were:
     Arwad / Amrit / Arvad / Arados in modern Syria
     Byblos / Jbeil in modern Lebanon
     Sidon / Saida in modern Lebanon
     Tyre in modern Lebanon
