This site is a digital history project focused on Portsmouth Island, North Carolina. It is to serve as an initial landing point for those just beginning their research into the island, with a particular focus on the history and legacy of the historians of Portsmouth, and how their decisions and ancestry have shaped how the island's history has been preserved and perceived.
