A sheela-na-gig is situated in the western bawn wall. These exhibitionist statues were relatively common in Ireland. This one is modelled on one found at nearby Glanworth Castle, Co. Cork, a stronghold of the Old English Lord Roche, Spenser's nemesis. Entrance to bawn wall with sheela-na-gig statue. A machicolation guards the entrance.
