Women's Rights Movement

In May of 1969 the National Womens Suffrage Association was created. This association was the start of a greater movement. The first birth control clinic was opened in 1916 which gave women the right to have a choice. In 1917 the first woman was sworn into Congress. In 1920 the Susan B. Anthony Ammendemt was passed giving the right to vote to any American citizen regardless of gender.

Women's Rights Movement has expanded into a digital aspect as well. The #Metoo Movement was in support of women who had their rights violated. This movement empowered and uplifted many people to show their abuser and get the justice they deserve. This digital activism has shown people they do have a voice and are able to help others also.

The mission for the Women's Rights Movement was to demand equality across genders. Equal pay, equal rights and equal control. This movement has given women a foundation of greatness they can now achieve because of the strong women that started it.
