What is the mission of the Pro-Choice movement?

The mission of the Pro-Choice movement is a fight for reproductive rights for everyone. The movement fights for access to abortion care, birth control, paid paternal leave, and protection from pregnancy discrimination. 

Who are the leaders?

The president of the Pro-Choice Movement is Mini Timmaraju. 

Mini has over 20 years experience leading federal, state and local campaigns. She has served as Senior Advisor to the Director at the Office of Personal Management in the Biden-Harris Administration. She also served as Director for Hillary for America's National Women's Vote, to maximize women's participation in the election.

Who protests?

In 2020, there was 2.5 million members that participated in the Pro-Choice movement, whether digital or physical. Now there are over 4 million members, including celebrities such as Jennifer Lawerence and Amy Schumer, who are long time supports, but also singer Halsey, Kamala Harris, and more.

Music that reflects the movement

The song "Lost Woman Song" by Ani DiFranco, talks about how it is a woman's choice if she wishes to have an abortion or not. Ani DiFranco wrote this song after experience two abortions, when she was 18 and then again when she was 20. 

 How can I get involved?

The Pro-Choice movement consists of both physical and digital ways you can be involved. Physical marches have been held at the Supreme court and they also hold events containing guest speakers that talk more about their perspectives and the current issues. They also hold digital events, such as signing petitions online and virtual meetings with guest speakers.
