I was fortunate enough to pledge Pi Kappa Phi as a sophomore and was in the Epsilon Pledge Class. After a lot of visiting and shoe-shining, the Brothers were kind enough to vote me the best pledge, which made me quite proud. Everett Cameron was wonderful as the Brother pledge class trainer. I spent my last 2 years as intramural chairman, wherein I played on, organized, and coached the fraternity sports teams. I was particularly proud of our incredible success, which resulted in our winning the President's Cup, which was symbolic of the overall East Carolina intramurals championship in 1966. In doing this, we dethroned the Lambda Chis, our chief rivals, who had won the Cup for years. Everett Cameron, Ray Lewis, and Jimmy Dail were our best athletes and major contributors to our many championships. Everett could have been the best player on the college basketball team had he chosen to participate. During 1965 and 1966, we won campus.
