When I got to Greenville in Sept 1963, I had spent two years in junior college and one year flunking out of NC State. I had pledged a frat at State but dropped out before initiation. By then, I was pretty sure I wanted to join a frat at ECC. During rush, I was only attracted to two houses. It was exciting to get a bid from my first choice, Beta Phi. I sensed that the 29 guys there would be lifelong friends. It's so gratifying to realize that my beliefs came to fruition over the last 60-plus years. Being a member of the 'ole coots' is one of my greatest pleasures. I know these men will always be by my side when I need them. Beta Phi 35.
