LICENSE
OF A VESSEL ABOVE TWENTY TONS
TO CARRY ON THE COASTING TRADE FOR ONE YEAR
DISTRICT OF CAMDEN, PORT OF ELIZABETH CITY.
In Pursuance of an Act of the Congress of the United States of American, entitled “An Act for
Enrolling and Licensing Ships or Vessels to be employed in the Coasting Trade and Fisheries and
for regulating the same,” Timothy Hunter and George W. Hobbs both of Elizabeth City, North
Carolina.
Having given bond that the schooner called the William W. Hall of Elizabeth City, whereof the
said George W. Hobbs is master, burthen Sixty two and 94/95 as appears by her Enrolment dated
at the Port of Elizabeth city, the day and numbered 59.
Shall not be employed in any Trade while this LICENSE shall continue in force, where by the
Revenue of the United States shall be defrauded, and having also sworn that this License shall
not be used for any other Vessel, or for any other employment than is here’n specified, License is
hereby granted for the said Schooner called the William W. Hall to be employed in carrying on
the Coasting Trade for one year from the date hereof and no longer.
GIVEN under my hand and Seal of Office, at the Custom House, at the Port of Elizabeth City,
this Second day of November, in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty two.
