Ficklen Stadium

Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium began as Ficklen Stadium, named in honor of James Skinner Ficklen—a prominent Greenville businessman and philanthropist whose foundation supported scholarships and other initiatives at ECU. The stadium originally seated 10,000 spectators; it was funded entirely through public subscription and purposefully designed by Dudley & Shoe of Greenville, NC for future expansion.
