Bate Building

Originally known as the General Classroom Building, this large academic facility was completed in 1988 and renamed in 2001 to honor philanthropist Harold H. Bate. As the largest classroom building on campus, it houses 65 classrooms and labs, including 30-tiered seminar rooms, alongside 180 faculty offices. It was designed by Little & Associates, Inc. from Charlotte, NC. Departments located here include Business, English, Foreign Languages, International Studies, and the Honors Program. The building also contains named spaces such as the Inglis Fletcher Library and the Fleming-Perry Conference Room. (Building Histories, 2025)
