Getty Museum Project
Description
This Getty Museum's Artwork Challenge was created as an assignment for Susan Ludeke's ART 1910: Art Appreciation course.
1. My name is Izzy Marshburn and I am majoring in Exercise Physiology. I play soccer, hangout with my friends and family and am a huge homebody. My brother and sister are both into theatre and act in many plays. I enjoy looking at art but otherwise I don't have much of a background in it.

2. For my project, to begin I had my friend curl my hair and I had to try to find the best thing to imitate her clothing. I used a trash bag to imitate the tool that this young girl had over her shirt as well as using a flower in my hair to match with hers. I put in small hoops like she was wearing to try and match everything as best as I could. I tried to find a background that was similar to the background in the image that was being imitated but instead I decided to use the background from the original in mine. I had my friend photograph me for my picture to get the best angle and lighting.

3. This portrait is called Portrait of a Young Girl painted by Sophie Gengembre Anderson. The date of this painting is unknown but is from the anytime between 1823-1903 (her lifespan). I chose to do this painting because I wanted to do a piece that most people have not seen before. Ultimately in the end I chose to imitate this painting because the it reminded me of my sister. Due to the fact that it reminds me of my sister I also saw parts of me in it as well. Red hair runs in my family and it is very unique which really drew me into imitating this painting.

4. This project caused me to go out of my comfort zone as well as cause me to be more creative. I do not normally like taking pictures of myself but due to the fact that this was a fun project I enjoyed it much more. I had to use creativity to come up with using a trash bag as the top of her shirt.

5. I thought this project was cool because it allowed for a good challenge of your creativity. When we were having to stay in this would have been a fun thing to do to allow us to use our creativeness more than we might have been. It was enjoyable to do and ultimately brought me a few laughs since I had friends help.
