The Quarantine of Poor Lisa

When looking at the Getty Museum challenge I knew I had to recreate a piece of artwork myself. Orest Kiprensky's "Poor Lisa" caught my eye as a beautiful piece, and more importantly one I could make my own. In staying with the spirit of COVID and shelter in place, I did not buy anything in order to recreate the piece. My clothes did not match the painting, nor did the sheet or the backdrop. I edited, color corrected and inserted color until I felt I had matched the original. Even the flow in my hand was sourced from home, a snapdragon grown by myself. This challenge gave a way for people to appreciate art from their own home, and pulled us together during trying times.
