Hi! I’m Ella and I chose “The Girl With The Pearl Earring” painted by Johannes Vermeer. I chose this piece because as a child my grandparents had a copy of it hanging up in their house and they always told me our side profiles are similar. A good memory for sure as they gave me the painting when I graduated high school.
I used an old tshirt as the headband, a sweater, and a jacket to recreate the outfit. I might’ve taken the earrings from my mom but don’t worry she’ll get them back when I go home next. I photographed myself with my iPhone.
This project was fun! It really is a way to express creativity with stuff just around the house, I really enjoyed being able to find things around my house instead of having to go out and buy something. Another painting would definitely be fun to recreate with your family, I feel like it could be a good bonding experience between everyone and a way for everyone to kind of regroup during such a hard time in everyone’s life.
