This is the Getty Museum Challenge to imitate an artwork that I created for my Art Appreciation class in Fall 2021. It's a document where I recreated the famous "Creation of Adam" piece. I wanted to share this piece to everyone to show how beautiful it is.

Imitate Artwork Challenge

It is my first year of college and nursing is my major. I want to become an anesthesiologist because the
pay is extremely good and I do not mind being in college for a long time. My interests include singing,
hanging with friends, visiting my family back home, going on walks with my maltipoo, and trying new
things. Art is a great passion of mine because it is how I express myself when my creative side comes
out. I just now got finished creating my own fairy wings (these will come in handy for Halloween). I drew
what I wanted them to look like and created it with wire, mesh, vines, lights, and flowers. I love creating
pieces of art with my own little touch to it and I have been doing so since an early age. I have always
been a very artistic person since the age of 5. Recently I have had to put a hold on all of that since
college has been very hectic for me but I always seem to have time to create art, even for Halloween!
The process with positioning my hands a certain way was very hard. I had to curve and bend my fingers
a certain way for it to look close to the famous artwork. My arms would cramp up if it took too long to
take the "perfect" picture so I had to reposition a lot but I tried my best at making it look as close as
possible to the original. I used the beige background in the lobby to match it and used my own hands of
course. There was no way I could have taken the picture myself since I was photographing both my
hands so I asked my friend to take it from my point of view. The artwork I have imitated is called the
"Creation of Adam" and it was created by Michelangelo. It was created from 1508-1512. I chose this
artwork because I thought it was simply beautiful. I loved how effortlessly the hands laid and how
peaceful it looked. It was aesthetically appealing to me and the piece I chose is not a self-portrait but
when you view the entire art piece it includes two people. I liked this project and it was creative
because I have not seen anyone else do hands. This was a cool project because it is something unique/
fun and safe to imitate since COVID is still going on.
