Pirate Wellness Program overview, ECU College of Health and Human Performance
-
Description
-
We created a virtual telehealth program for individuals with disabilities during COVID so our recreational therapy students had clinical internship experiences required for national certification and state licensure. The Pirate Wellness Program provided our students a platform to learn skills needed to be a practitioner and also provided individuals with disabilities much needed services during these quarantine periods. With the success, we’ve since transitioned the program to be a model for our new and improved senior practicum. We made lemonade out of lemons.
