Description: My brother Michael graduated in 2020. When we found out the in-person ceremony was canceled, my mom and I planned a backyard graduation for him. This allowed us to celebrate together, but still socially distance from our parents since Michael and I no longer live with them. Michael and his fiancé were roommates with my husband and I prior to and throughout the pandemic's initial wave.
