I am currently a senior studying finance. I actually plan to graduate this May! The excitement for graduation is so real but very heart breaking at the same time. The things that interest me are iced coffee, walks, the beach, and hanging out with my family and friends. I am a social butterfly and my love for makeup is seriously expensive.
I chose Option 1 for my inspiration. The masks are obviously the only trend from 2020 that seemed to stick around for 2021, unfortunately. The idea for my art came to me as soon as I saw option 1. I love makeup and the thought of being able to do my makeup and wear a mask made my heart skip a beat. The ones who wear makeup and battle a mask, know the struggle.
My mask is actually a protective cloth mask that I wear. I love cheetah print and that's why my project is based on this specific mask. Also, Old Navy has the best mask with very cute prints on them at an awesome price. COVID-19 has slowed many things down for me, but my love for walks, coffee, makeup, and my family has also grown through this crazy adventure.
I chose this photo to show my makeup skills and how I designed my face to somewhat match the cheetah print on the mask. COVID has really put a sad mood in the air for the past year and these cute masks seem to bring back my life when going out in public and dreading having to wear a mask.
This was created as an assignment for Susan Ludeke's ART 1910: Art Appreciation course.
