My name is Karen Sanchez, I am majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. Whenever I have free time some of the favorite things that I like to do is draw, paint, and binge-watch some of my favorite shows. I also enjoy traveling whenever I can, I love to admire all the beautiful places earth has to give.
I started out this project by sketching out different versions of the mask that I wanted to make. Once I decided what style I was going to do for a mask, I went out and got all the materials that would be needed. The materials I used were paper, color pencils, cardboard, wire, fake flowers, a fake butterfly, and markers. What inspired me to create this mask was the reflection of how I imagined myself to be. This mask is a representation of how I feel about myself.
Although the mask that I have created is not a protective mask, I still would not go and wear it around in public. This mask represents me because it shows the internal struggles that I have and how it makes me up as a whole. every experience makes me the person that I am today. This mask can convey how I dealt with coronavirus because it was a difficult time for me since I am not used to changing, I was having a hard time living my life and finding the true me.
I took this photo this way because the pink lighting emphasizes all the colors and makes it stand out more. This photo can be found aesthetically pleasing and creative because in its own unique way this mask is able to convey meaning while at the same time making all the bold colors stand out as well as having a creative structure that has flowers and wire throughout the mask.
